can you recommend a product for me?
Why pay for salon hair removal when you can get the same smooth results at home? All Parissa Hair Removal systems
are gentle, safe, clean & simple to use (even if you've never waxed before). Since each product is formulated for
different needs, one product may suit you better than another. What's important is to choose a product that suits
your needs and is most comfortable for you to use.
Another great method for first time hair removal is the washable Parissa
Body Sugar. Just smooth on the sugar paste (no heating needed), press
on the strips and lift away unwanted hair. Any excess product just washes
away with water!
For the most professional results try Parissa
Warm Wax. This salon wax is formulated for short, stubborn hair and heavy
hair growth. It's the system most often used in salons.
Choose Parissa
Hot Wax Kit - the traditional salon system used for extremely short, coarse
facial hair. Warm the product, spread it on, then peel off the product in
one go- it's easy! There's no need for strips with this system.
After any type of hair removal, treat your skin to our moisturizing Azulene Oil After Care. This finishing oil soothes and cleans skin after hair removal, reduces redness, and prevents ingrown hair. Azulene also helps regenerate new skin cells to give you the smoothest, most supple skin day after day.
advantages over shaving
Shaving is one of the simplest and most popular methods of hair removal, but it's the method
with the least benefits.
The biggest advantage Parissa products provide is longer term hair removal. Razors only trim
unwanted hair at the skin
surface...so regrowth typically occurs within one or two days. With shaving, all the hairs grow back
at the same rate, at their adult thickness, resulting in horribly rough stubble. Parissa Hair Removal systems
remove hair from the root and permanently weaken a percentage of the hair follicles. Most experience silky
smooth skin for up to 8 weeks. Regrowth is significantly sparser, lighter and finer and best of all, there's no
stubble! Shaving also drys out the skin and causes razor burn whereas with Parissa,
the skin is rejuvenated as dead skin cells and impurities are removed from the skin surface.
advantages over chemical lotions & other methods
Depilatory lotions, gels & creams are chemicals with alkaline substances that dissolve
hair on the skin's surface. As hair and skin are both made of keratin, there is some danger of
dissolving or burning the skin. Other treatments, such as electrolysis, can sometimes lead to
complications, such as infection or even permanent skin discoloration. Skin discoloration can
also occur with laser hair removal, although this tends to occur most often in people with dark complexions.
what's the difference between various waxes and sugaring
products?
Since everyone's skin and hair type is different, Parissa offers a variety of
different products to suit your needs. The different types of products can seem
confusing at first…but it's quite easy to describe the differences.
Liquid Waxes, Sugaring Or Washable Waxing Gels are sticky to the touch at room temperature and need to be removed with the help of some sort of applicator strip (usually a non-woven or a muslin strip). Generally speaking liquid waxes are more economical and faster to use. Liquid waxes must always be spread in a very thin layer for optimum results. Washable liquid waxes are usually referred to as Sugaring products, Cold Waxes or Washable Waxing Gels. Examples of Liquid Waxes: Parissa Warm Wax, Parissa Wax Strips, Parissa Soft Gels and Parissa Body Sugar. Other examples are: Persian Cold Wax, Nad's, Nair Washable Waxing Gel, Marzena Liquid Wax and Sally Hansen Cold Waxes.
Solid Waxes are hard and solid to the touch, they must be melted before
application and there is no need for applicator strips. As soon as the wax
is applied to the skin it hardens. Once the wax hardens, it is then pulled
or peeled off. In contrast to Liquid Waxes, SOLID WAXES must be spread in
a thick layer. Solid Waxes are best suited for extremely short, coarse facial
hair. Examples of Solid Waxes: Parissa
Hot Wax, Sally Hansen Professional Wax, Andrea Warm Wax, Hair Off Warm
Wax and Zip Wax.
is it painful?
Using waxing or sugaring products shouldn't be painful. However, you may feel some discomfort your first time…but it's no worse than pulling off a band-aid or plucking eyebrows. The sensitivity felt initially is greatly reduced as your hair becomes less resistant…that's because each time you use a wax or sugaring product you help weaken your unwanted hair follicles. The weaker the hair follicle, the softer the hair and the less resistant it becomes to hair removal.
Here are a few tips on how to minimize discomfort for extra sensitive areas like the bikini and upper lip:
- read, understand and follow our helpful instructions before starting.
- try applying a very light layer of baby powder on the area to be treated.
- remember to keep your skin taught during hair removal (just like shaving…you don't want any loose skin).
- if you're really worried about pain, take an advil about 25 minutes before you begin.
Finally, remember that not all products are suitable for people with extra sensitive or problem skin...it's always smart to do a patch test first. Common Sense Caution: Don't use our products over sunburned, chapped, broken or sore skin, cuts, worts, scars or excema. If you're uncertain whether or not you should use a certain product, just ask us.
is it difficult & time consuming?
As with any other beauty regimens, at-home hair removal gets easier (and faster)
with practice. Remember the first time you did your make-up? Or the first
time you shaved? It took a long time and the results probably weren't what
you expected - but after a while the whole process took a lot less time and
became quite simple. The same is true here. The advantage with Parissa is
that our products are specially designed to be quick, clean & simple to use.
Each kit includes complete, easy to follow instructions to help you get salon
results. If it's your first time, try the ready to use Parissa
Wax Strips or the washable Parissa
Body Sugar.
what results can I expect?
Each time you choose Parissa you choose a complete system that gives you smooth,
healthy, supple skin. Our waxes and sugaring products remove unwanted hair
from deep within the follicle giving you smooth results for weeks. Also removed
are dirt, impurities and dead skin cells. Parissa includes a vial of soothing
Azulene Oil with each kit to moisturize your skin and help regenerate new
skin cells. Over time, our system makes your skin noticeably smoother and
your regrowth significantly sparser, lighter and finer.
what about skin irritation?
Parissa formulates all it's products with natural ingredients, so there's
little chance of irritation and no side effects. Depending on your complexion
and your skin sensitivity, some redness or spots may occur for a short time
after hair removal. This effect normally disappears within 1 hour. Since your
skin deserves the best, Parissa also includes a vial of Azulene Oil with each
kit. Azulene, the active ingredient of chamomille, soothes the skin after
hair removal and helps prevents redness (it's also great if you normally get
razor rash).
Although Waxing is known to be the safest method of hair removal, it should not be used on sunburned, irritated or injured skin, over varicose veins, moles, or warts.
what is Azulene Oil?
Azulene Oil is Parissa's exclusive aftercare to follow any type of hair removal.
Parissa Azulene Oil soothes skin after hair removal, reduces redness, prevents
ingrown hair and regenerates new skin cells. Azulene is the active ingredient
of chamomile, which has been known for centuries for its antibacterial and
soothing properties. When used daily, azulene oil will enhance and maintain
the smooth supple finish provided by Parissa Hair Removal Systems.
